Nicole C. Mullen - My Redeemer Lives - Sunday's Song

I am so thankful that "I know that my Redeemer Lives".

I was blessed to listen to Nicole C. Mullen in person at the Inspire Luncheon this past Friday.  This was the tenth anniversary to Celebrate Inspire Women  which was birthed by God in Anita Carmen.  Kay Warren the wife of  Rick Warren, pastor of Camelback Church in California was the keynote speaker. The entire Awards luncheon experience was a huge blessing to me...His Presence was so there. Be blessed this Sunday to know that Jesus Christ, My Redeemer Lives Today.

Psalm 23 - with a Silent Sermon

A member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going. After a few weeks, the preacher decided to visit him.

It was a chilly evening. The pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire. Guessing the reason for his preacher's visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace...and waited.

The preacher made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After some minutes, the preacher took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone, then he sat back in his chair, still silent.

The host watched all this in quiet contemplation. As the one lone ember's flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and dead.

Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting. The preacher glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.

As the preacher reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek, 'Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the firey sermon. I will be back in church next Sunday.'

We live in a world today, which tries to say too much with too little. Consequently, few listen. Sometimes the best sermons are the ones left unspoken.

Let the actions of our lives make the difference this time.  Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:  verse 7 a time to be silent and a time to speak.  LORD help me discern when I need to be still and quiet and when I need to speak up and take action.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd ----- that's a Relationship!

I shall not want ----- that's Supply!

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures ----that's Rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters -----that's Refreshment!

He restoreth my soul -- that's Healing!

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness -- that's Guidance!

For His name's sake ----- that's Purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death --that's Testing!

I will fear no evil ----- that's Protection!

For Thou art with me ----- that's Faithfulness!

Thy rod and Thy staff comfort me -----that's Discipline!

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies ---that's Hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil -----that's Consecration!

My cup runneth over ----- that's Abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life ---that's Blessing!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord ----- that's Security!

Forever ----- that's Eternity!

October 15th - Scripture Meditation/Memory

Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."

Psalm 46:10 was a scripture memory/meditation for me in 2009 however I must acknowledge that in recent months I have not acknowledged /"Being Still" and waiting to make sure it is His voice I hear when I commit to a speicific request or activity.

I am in a step back and review mode and so thankful for God's Grace, Mercy and Peace. It is my extreme desire to live daily in His Holy Presence.

Grace and Peace this is a Song I must sing of Being Still, setting myself apart and Knowing Who God Is

October 1st - John 3:16-17

John 3:16-17 Scripture Memory/Meditation

16 For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

This year I have only selected one verse with each posting. This one is different because orignially I learned these verse in the King James Version and now I want to learn these verses in the New International Version.

God Still Moves

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

God Still Moves – Praise Chorus from the 80’s
I realize this video requires some listening skills for the Enemy doesn't want God's children to remember that God is still speaking as in John 1:1 and when He Speaks He causes lives to change. I have provided the lyrics below to help you listen.

God Still Moves by Steve and Annie Chapman
Chorus:
God still moves, God still moves.
In the hearts of people, God still moves.
He does not sleep, nor does He slumber.
God still moves, God still moves.

They’ve prayed for this moment
Since the day he said, “Goodbye.”
He said he’d never come back home, but God has heard their cry.
They’ll have a sweet reunion, as they lift their voice in praise
For the work that God has done now their hearts can truly say.

Repeat Chorus

It’s gonna take some time for all their wounds to heal
But the work will be completed, as they give away their wills
To the One who is able now, to change the hearts of men.
He has done it through the ages, He can do it once again.

Repeat Chorus Twice

Let Your Living Water Flow - Sunday Song on Monday

This video was recorded in All Saints Church for a Pentecost Service in Birmingham, UK February 8, 2008 and was broadcast at that time as well.   Be blessed as you listen to the music and the words expressed in this song.  I sing it for myself as a prayer.

I left town early last Thursday morning and decided to leave my laptop at home, not to return until late last night Sunday evening.  Later I will blog about my experience in Washington, DC at the Lincoln Memorial.

Guy Penrod - He (God) is Watch'n Me

I love the fact that God is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever more.  Yes, He has enough time to watch each one  of His creations.  He is God and created man for fellowship with Him.

In the song the group sings, "...God stops what He is doing when I SPEAK His Name"... Yes, my life and yours is all about relationship.  The most important relationship on this earth is my relationship with my Heavenly Father. Next is my relationship with my family.  Be blessed as you listen to a Song I must Sing this  Sunday's Song.

Opera Company of Philadelphia "Flash Brindisi" at Reading Terminal Marke...

What a rare treat for those individuals in attendance during this "in the market" performance. Though I don't know Italian or even understand what they were singing I understand the beauty of the human voice as the Opera blended with one another.  How beautiful.  Enjoy!

August 15th - Scripture Meditation/Memory - Psalm 40:1a

Psalm 40:1a (KJV)
I waited patiently for the LORD.

Waiting is much more difficult than walking, for waiting requires patience, and patience is a rare virtue.  We enjoy knowing that God builds hedges around His people, when we look at the hedge from the aspect of protection. But when we see it growing higher and higher until we can no longer see over it, we wonder if we will ever get out of our little sphere of influence and service, where we feel trapped.  Sometimes it is hard for us to understand why we do not have a larger area of service and it all becomes difficult for us to "brighten the corner" where we are.  But God has a purpose in all of His delaysPsalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD."

Next to this verse, in the margin of his bible, George Mueller made this note: "And the stops too."  It is a sad mistake for someone to break through God's hedges. It is a vital principle of the Lord's guidance for a Christian never to move from the spot where he is sure God has placed him, until the "pillar of cloud" (Exodus 31:21) moves. from Sunday School Times.

Once we learn to wait for the Lord's leading in everything, we will know the strength that finds its highest point in an even and steady walk. Many of us are lacking the strength we so desire, but God gives complete power for every task He calls us to perform.  Waiting-keeping yourself faithful to His leading-this is the secret of strength. And anything that does not align with obedience to him is a waste of time and energy.  Watch and wait for His leading. Samuel Dickey Gordon

Must life be considered a failure for someone compelled to stand still, forced into inaction and required to watch the great, roaring tides of life from shore? No-victory is then to be won by standing still and quietly waiting. Yet this is a thousand times harder to do than in the past, when you rushed headlong into the busyness of life.  It requires much more courage to stand and wait and still not lose heart or lose hope, to submit to the will of God, to give up opportunities for work and leave honors to others, and to be quiet, confident, and rejoicing while the busy multitude goes happily along their way.

The greatest life is: "after you have done everything, to stand" (Ephesians 6:13) J. R. Miller

Wendi Marvanne lived an Amazing Life...I am blessed by Her Story

After the last post I viewed this and realized what an amazing mother young Rhema was blessed to have.  Wendi, Rhema's mother was indeed a songwriter through this video lived an amazing though short life.  She died of Ovarian Cancer. She ends this video telling her daughter.  At sometime all people will fail and disappoint you.  However, God is always Faithful.  BELIEVE GOD.

Amazing Grace Today - God is Always Faithful

I don't know the validity of everything from the credit's but I do know the Power of God can be used in the life of a 7 year old snaggled tooth young child who sings this song.  The credits say this video is in memory of her mother how sad to loose your Mother at such a young age. Yet God is Sovereign and definitely in control.  I am so thankful for His Love and Mercy on Me today. I was blessed as I was reminded of God's Grace in my life as listened to her sing one of my most favorite hymns.

August 1 - Scripture Meditation/Memory

Mark 1:35 (NIV)

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Each day God has called me to arise early and spend time alone with HIM. I confess what is written in this next verse as is written in Matthew 26:36 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak applies to me. Today and until Aug 15th I will focus on Mark 1:35.

I look for your comment or scripture memory in the comment section.

Hymn"Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah" Welsh Church

AS I viewed this video I love the music and the words and yet it was sad as I looked for younger people to be part of this amazing chior. Yes, I found a few near the end.  As I live my life may my peers include ALL ages especially when it comes to worship.  Yes, I know many young people love the contemporary music and I do too but let us live with a balance.  The hymns of my childhood have now become prayers in my adulthood.

More times than I can count when I am puzzled about a situation this song will come to mind "Guide me O Thou Great Jehovah, (I am a ) Pilgrim through this barren land, I am weak but thou are mighty, Guide me with thou powerful hand. Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven, Feed me til I want no more. Feed me til I want no more. As I pray that and meditate on God's Word I receive direction with the Peace and God's Grace I am seeking.  Be Blessed as You Worship the LORD Today.

July 15th Scripture Meditation/Memory

Psalm 28:7 (NIV)

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trust in him, and I am helped.  My heart leaps  for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

I must remember that steadfast strength comes from the LORD.  So many opportunities for learning surround me, however, I am comforted when  realize it is THE LORD who gives me the strength to persevere and accomplish what He has purposed in me. When these accomplishments are completed the joy of the LORD often comes out in song.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Music and song have always blessed me richly as I seek to know my Heavenly Father.

This scriptures memory in Psalms 28:7 is a Song I Must Sing. PTL

Happy Birthday to My First Born - Victoria Lesa

July 12, 1972, I was pregnant with Les and my first child. The baby was two weeks late.  Les had to force my swollen feet into my shoes for the last month or so.  I was so tired of family and friends calling to see if I had delivered our baby yet. I was so ready to see my feet again and get back into regular clothes.  This was Wednesday, I think my regular doctor day. This day my blood pressure had begun to rise and the only way the doctor said to eliminate that was to deliver the baby and to report to the hospital at 6 a.m. the next morning.

Thursday, July 13, 1972,  As Les and I were driving from Garland, TX over to St. Paul's hospital in Dallas near Love Field, I was excited and yet very scared not really knowing exactly what to expect that my experience would be in "delivering a baby" even with the lamaze class. I just thought about all the incredible pain and war stories I had heard from my friends and others.  At that point if there was any way I could have gotten out of delivering this baby to avoid the pain I would have done it in a New York minute. However, I was also excited to finally discover what it was like to hold my baby. Yes, this would fulfill another one of my life long dreams. After I met the man of my dreams and married. I desparately wanted a big family.  I loved children and I wanted my own.

I was blessed to only experience hour and half of hard labor before Victoria Lesa announced her arrival in this world with that beautiful cry. At the time I didn't know that the doctors and nurses knew what the gender of the baby was according to the heart beat and blood pressure as during labor. Dr. Nabors commented as we moved from the labor room on to delivery that the last boy had been delivered so this would have to be a girl. And yes it was my precious Victoria who changed Les and my life forever on that day.  We are so blessed to have the privilege our first born daughter.

Today, my first born is a beautiful wife to Brandon and mother to 7 year old son, Micah and 5 year old daughter, Lauren . I am so thankful for God's Grace and Mercy as he grew Les and my family beginning with Victoria who changed my life forever in such a wonderful way.

This is a Song of Love I must Sing Happy Birthday to Victoria Lesa a.k.a. Vicki who by her self and through her own family has brought tremendous joy to my world.  Happy Birthday!

Ann Voskamp - The Rest of God

Today on Holy Experience, Ann Voskamp discusses how it feels to be bone tired.

I don't know about you but there are days when I am and have been bone tired.  I especially remember that feeling while Les and our two girls were growing up at home.  And even today in my life I can feel bone tired. Not every day, but there are those days; those days when I try to accomplish too much and end up more than exhausted.

The way in which Ann writes inspires me.  Click on the link below and experience for yourself.  Be blessed as you listen to the soothing music and the words that describe her day and she is bone tired.  This is Wednesday, July 7th.  I remember those days she describes in my own world.

July 3-5, 2010 Let Freedom Ring Weekend

Today is Saturday the beginning of July4th Freedom Weekend 2010. I am so thankful for the founding fathers of America who created this nation, The United States of America on Christian prinicples. You understand it is only through Christ and His death on the cross for my sins over 2000 years ago that any of us have REAL Freedom. Freedom is not free there is always a price to pay.

I praise my Heavenly Father that in His abundant grace and mercy, He chose for me to be born in America and grow up in this nation. Be blessed as you view the youtube video of several years ago.

Praise God for the freedom each of us experience today. Do not take this freedom for granted, someone paid a price for my freedom. Now, I must do what God calls me to do in preserving and protecting the freedoms I have come so dearly to love.

July 1 - Scripture Meditation and or Memory

2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV)
And God is able to make all grace abound to you,
so that in all things at all times,
having all that you need,
you will abound in every good work.

This is a verse I need to meditate and memorize yesterday. Please understand God is all about exhibiting His Grace, Mercy and Peace to and through those who Love and Believe He is who the Holy Bible says He is.

This year, 2010 is now half over...where did it go? For me, a large part of 2010 God has set me apart that I may KNOW more of who HE is and can be for me, Sylvia.

Just last week God made a way when there did not seem a way for me to be able to accurately re evaluate an issue God, my Heavenly Father brought to my life this past January. I am so thankful for God's Amazing Grace in my life.

I look for your thoughts or scripture in my comment section of this post. Thank you in advance for your comments. This is a Song I Must Sing.

Terry Macalmon - You Deserve the Glory

In 2008 a precious prayer partner told me about Terry Macalmon and his Worship Music CD. Then in May 2009 I joined an exercise class at my church and when it came to the cool down process at the end of the hour this was one of the songs that came on as I worshiped the LORD in exercising my body. God blessed me physically in my commitment to worship.

Worship the LORD with this Sunday's Song and meditate on a favorite verse or chapter in Psalms. Recently I have focused on Psalm 57:2 I cry out to God Most High, to God , who fulfills His purpose for me.

This is a Song I must Sing because of God's Abundant Mercy, Grace and Peace, Sylvia

Then Will the Very Rocks Cry Out

This anthem has blessed me over the years. I remember singing it while in Houston First Baptist Church Choir under the direction of Gerald Ray.

I have never heard of this musical group from Ontario...Just get past the first 30 seconds of the two girls speaking in this video and be blessed with the music. The lyrics are based on scripture...I think from Psalms...if you know the scripture reference please comment.

This Sunday, June 20th John Bolin directed the HFBC Choir in this anthem. The music brings joy to my soul.

Wish I had a video of HFBC this past Sunday singing this anthem.

Friday - June 18th - What a week!

I am so grateful for the activities God allows in my life. Earlier this week a dear friend let me know her favorite Uncle had passed away. Later I learned she was going to drive by herself almost two hours each way to be with family and attend the memorial service, etc. I asked if she would like me to go with her as I looked at June 18, Friday and thought I could probably adjust my schedule so my friend would not have to go alone. I did mention that I would need to check our business schedule and make sure Les didn't have something scheduled I was unaware of. That was on Tuesday, June 15th and I would get back with her by Thursday to confirm. Wednesday evening Les and I were checking the schedule for the next day and then I realized though I still had Friday open...after the rigorous schedule of Thursday I needed Friday to just rest or so I thought. As you read on you will see God had other plans for me.

In God's Amazing Grace and Mercy I have overcome a medical issue that showed up in early January this year. In this process, I realized that in my lifetime I had never learned how to REST. Last September 13th, my pastor preached from Genesis 3 a message "The Rhythm of Work and Rest". He concluded the message by reading a quote on page 48 from a book by author, Mark Buchanan entitled "The Rest of God" Restoring Your Soul by Restoring Your Sabbath.

Now, back to point. I called my friend and told her I was unable to go. She understood and was so appreciative that I even volunteered to go with her and knew I was serious about the offer.

Thursday was a full business day leaving the house before 8 a.m. and not returning home until after 9 p.m. I was thankful that I was going to be able to rest the next day as I went to bed Thursday evening.

Friday morning I rested and took my time getting up and out of bed. I was blessed with my devotional and worship time thinking I had all morning if I wanted to use it. In the middle of writing a comment on a blog my husband phone rings and shortly afterwards he comes downstairs and finds me to let me know about his phone call. I complete the blog with "just got a phone call... please pray...will let you know more later." Bye.

We are blessed with a business partner and his wife for over twenty five years. Yes, we are business partners but more important we are good friends and really care about one another and share the same values and ethics. In March of this year our business partner's wife had brain surgery however during the surgery she had a stroke which left the right side of her body paralyzed. She has made tremendous progress since March and finally came home from the hospital and rehab centers in May.

Our partner and his wife are quite a team and we dearly love them. He is amazing the way he has managed to care for his wife and work the business. Their adult children are limited in their ability to be there long term but always come when asked.

Les tells me that our business partner called, he had been the first of three cars that were rear ended in a freeway accident on the way to the office. Fortunately only the rear of his car was damaged though he was bruised and in shock from the trauma of the accident. The middle car was almost a sandwich I understand. A young 20's male driver had caused the three car pile up. Les was scheduled to take a professional license exam in a few hours (which he passed) and could not go...so I immediately stopped and got myself together to go to our partner's home and be with his wife and keep her occupied until he could locate her brother to help and then tell her what had happened.

Our business partner also had a 1 p.m. business appointment that I was asked to take for him. I visisted with his wife and prepared her lunch and she was ready when two neighbors came to take her on a previously planned outing. I left to drive the 40 minutes to the appointment when half way there I get a call that the client called to reschedule due her work and I didn't need to make this appointment for him.

Another business associate of our partner arrivevd and with police permission was able to drive our partners' car from the freeway to a strip shoping parking lot near by until someone could get back and drive it home. The police required our business partner to be transported by ambulance to Cy-Fair hospital and after x-rays and several tests and visiting with the doctor, five hours later he was released to go home and then see his doctor today. In recent years our business partner has had a significant health issues himself but has managed to keep it under control.

To make a long story short. Our business partner and his wife are doing well and resting at home now. Family members are to be with them this weekend to make sure all is well. Les and I are managing the business and assisting our partner with the office.

When I received the call telling me the appointment had been canceled I was near the Galleria. I had not had lunch yet so I found a great place to have a delicous lunch and just relax with my thoughts. I was just about ready to go when I received a text message from Atlanta, GA then another phone call from Minneapolis, MN that a precious female mentor and almost 91 year old legend in our business had passed away. I had written a prayer request for this precious saint for our business website just this past Tuesday evening. I realized as I finished lunch it was time to make my way back home to my laptop and seek the LORD for what he wanted me to write for our business associates and the family across the country.

I started my freeway journey back home and was just about to make my exit off for Jersey Village when Les calls and tells me he passed the test and would I meet him to complete our shopping for an item, then have dinner. He was hungry. So I turned around and went. God so blessed us richly with that shopping experience. We found our way to Escalantes Mexican Resturant at Town & Country for dinner and enjoyed our time there. We had several special conversations with strangers from two different tables near us. God is so good.

Les arrived home, now able to rest that the first test is behind him and deserves a rest for the diligent study and work efforts he puts out. Before I could get home I saw the needle on the gas tank and took care of that and a few other issues. I finally arrived home just before 7 p.m. I had several more phone calls from friends who knew our company female legend well. I still have that prayer request and memorial for the family and friends to write but know in God's Grace and Mercy it will be accomplished.

STRING of PEARLS...THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS...GOD provided the energy to accomplish a greater task for Him today and for my husband and our business partner. I was also available to talk to others across the nation today in the loss of our 90 year old lady company legend. Today she has a new name as she entered the pearly white gates and I'm sure Jesus said "Well, done good and faithful servant."

Be blessed in God's Amazing Grace, Mercy and Peace.

2 Of 3 / Faith Of The Founding Fathers / American Heritage Series / Davi...

June 1 - Proverbs 19:21

Recently in learning my new lifestyle of participating in only Spirit Driven activity this process keeps becoming more difficult. I discovered a scripture today that I pray as I meditate on it will bring more clarity to me as I make my daily choices.

Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man's heart,

but is the LORD's purpose that prevails.

Take time and share your scripture to meditate on these next 15 days.

Blessings,
Sylvia

GG & Lauren Day - May 1

My first born Vicki is married to Brandon who live in the Fort Worth - Mid Cities Area near DFW airport. They have blessed Les and me with a now 7 year old grandson and now 5 year old granddaughter. We don't get to see them as often as we'd like but so appreciate the time we have together.

May 1st weekend was a girls weekend for Vicki and Lauren to come to the Houston area for Vicki to help host a bridal shower for one of her best friends forever. While Vicki was occupied with the shower Lauren and I got to have a fun day together.

We first began with a shopping experience for an item that was needed for an event coming up soon. We picked up my friend who was also involved in this project and were on our way. In the meantime, Lauren taught us how to play the game "Banana" when you travel. Young children just love games to pass the time. I'll go into that experience another post.

We were shopping for a Tiara. The person who was to receive this Tiara is a very elegant lady and we asked Lauren to help us select it when we arrived at the jewelry store. Lauren is her Mother's daughter. When we finally found our way to the counter with all the Tiara's in about 30 seconds Lauren pointed a certain one out and said that was it. My friend and I acknowledged her choice, but we needed to look at some other tiara's as well. We both came to agree that Lauren was right own and purchased the Tiara Lauren selected for the Elegant Lady friend to be blessed with.

Digressing a bit when Vicki was about Lauren's age ,it was very clear when we went shopping especially for clothes; if Vicki did not pick it out I was throwing my money away because when we got home she would not wear it. She always knew what she liked and has always had a great sense of style appropriate to her age.

We dropped my friend off then Lauren and I traveled to Tea for Two Tea Room for lunch. Note the bow in the mirrow from Lauren's hair. She ordered her choice from the kids's menu Peanut Butter and Jelly on Croissant with her own personal Tea Pot of Cold Tea. Lauren had other ideas about dessert so we passed on dessert at the Tea Room.

Lauren expresses such confidence after pouring her cold tea from her tea pot as we waited for our entrees.

The joy expressed on Lauren's face below is priceless to me.

Next was our stop at the book store where G.G. (Gorgeous Grandmother - I'm too young to be a grandmother hence G.G,) provided cash for Lauren to select the book of her choice. That was a fun experience. Lauren loved going up to the counter and paying for it all by herself and receiving the change she knew she would get to keep.

Now it was time to go to the park to play after we stopped by McDonald's to get the ice cream she wanted. We only stayed a brief time as even on May 1st the Houston heat was getting too warm.

G.G. had one more errand to run which Lauren loves to go shopping. When we finished that event it was time to pick up Pizza for dinner with Pops, G.G., Lauren's Mom along with Aunt Val, Uncle Ryan and cousin Cooper.

Lauren was a great helper and fun to be with today, May 1st. It was a fun and wonderful day for all of us.

Chris Tomlin Indescribable Sunday Song

Yesterday God allowed me to be part of an amazing Prayer Blessing Shower for a friend who is going through a most serious legal battle for my friend's child. What took place at the Prayer Shower was nothing short of Amazing, Extravangant and certainly most Indescribale from Elohim, Almighty God. You just had to be there to experience it. Thank you Jesus for allowing me to be part of the Blessing Experience.
May Chris Tomlin encourage you to Trust God more for every detail of life existance.

May 15th Meditation/ Memory - Proverbs 31:25

Proverbs 31:25

She(Sylvia)is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can rejoice in the days to come.

As a woman and believer in Jesus Christ, God has dressed my character to be strong with dignity. I can stand up and hold my head high as I Trust HIM. I can always Trust Him no matter what. Just knowing especially when I feel the need for strength as a new trial shows up or another trial keeps occuring in my life's path that I can relax and be thrilled with joy because God is FAITHFUL and will carry me through to the final Victory with HIM in Jesus Name. I am secure in Jesus Christ my LORD and Saviour.

May this scripture encourage you today as it does for me when I meditate on God's Word to keep it close to my heart and my mind that I may always "Delight myself in the LORD".

If you are meditating or memorizing scripture please share your verse with a comment below. Also if you have any other thoughts concerning Proverbs 31:25 please share with in the Comment section below.

Grace and Peace to you this Proverbs 31:25 scripture I must sing.

The Power of the Cross

I was blessed to hear this same chior and orchestra in my home church this morning and was blessed beyond measure.

I was under the weather for about four days this past week. As I lay in bed knowing I needed to get up but wondering where my strength was I just started repeating The Joy of the LORD is my STRENGTH. I only repeated this several times when in my spirit God spoke and said get up in your current strength and as you go I will give you more strength. And God did just that.
The Power of the Cross is the strength of Jesus in me as I continue to put my Faith in HIM.

May 1st Scripture Memory/Meditation

I am so grateful for Elohim, Almighty God who continues to bless me beyond measure. These verses hidden in my heart are great reminders to me of who God is and can be in my life as I seek HIS Holiness only. My security is in the LORD. Praise His Holy Name.

Psalm 112:7 was the most recent meditation memory.

He/She (Sylvia) will have no fear of bad news, his/her (Sylvia's) heart is steadfast, TRUSTING in the LORD.
Today I will add the next verse

PSALM 112:8

His/Her (Sylvia's) heart is SECURE, he/she (Sylvia) will have no fear,in the end he/she (Sylvia)will look in triumph on his/her(Sylvia's)foes.

My Security is my faith in The LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Blessed Be the Name of the LORD.

April 15th - Psalm 112:7 Meditate/Memorize

America was founded on Christian principles. As I view the changes in our government I feel great concern for our nation. Unfortunately 99.9 percent of the time the media gives nothing but disturbing news and we should know some, but there is no balance of the good that is happening as well.

I have selected Psalm 112:7-8 to meditate on. I plan to meditate and memorize verse 7 immediately. On May 1st, I will focus on memorizing verse 8.

Psalm 112 begins speaking about man/woman therefore I have taken license as I memorize.

Psalm 112:7 (NIV)
7 He/She(Sylvia) will have no fear of bad news;
his/her heart is steadfast, TRUSTING in the LORD.

This is a rather brief Psalm, let me share with you from the New International Version.

Psalm 112
1 Praise the LORD.
Blessed is the man who fears the LORD,
who finds great delight in his commands.

2 His children will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.

3 Wealth and riches are in his house,
and his righteousness endures forever.

4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.

5 Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely,
who conducts his affairs with justice.

6 Surely he will never be shaken;
a righteous man will be remembered forever.

7 He will have no fear of bad news;
his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.

8 His heart is secure, he will have no fear;
in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.

9 He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor,
his righteousness endures forever;
his horn will be lifted high in honor.

10 The wicked man will see and be vexed,
he will gnash his teeth and waste away;
the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

Please take time and give a comment below. Also if you have a verse you are meditating on or memorizing please share with me.

Grace and Peace for a Song I must Sing of Trusting in the LORD.

The Power of God's Love

In the next 10 days a lot of preparation for a weekend conference must be completed. This song is what I am singing to myself as I do believe in the Power of His Love. God has called me to TRUST HIM in every area of my life. God knows what all needs to happen in me and I am confident that Jehovah Jireh, The God who Provides will do just that.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 He who has called you is faithful and He will do it. Thank you Lord that I can depend on You.

Leviticus 11:45b ...therefore Be holy, because I am Holy. Elohim, Almighty God I seek your holiness in my life today.

This Song of the Power of God's Love I must sing today.

Sometime today...Centuries Ago

"I am so blessed", is the expression that comes from my lips as I think about my life. This Holy Week has been like no other Holy Week I can remember.

Have you ever had an experience that was so precious and profound it is difficult to find the words to describe it. The Love of God is like that...and all I can think is Praise the Name of Jesus for His Amazing Mercy, Grace and Peace in my life.

Good Friday in Houston, TX as it neared midday the sky became dark in some areas. It never really rained...but it was overcast and reminded me so of that Friday centuries ago when Jesus was nailed to the cross. When Jesus gave his last words "It is Finished" and then died the midday sky became dark as night. Well the darkness in Houston was not as dark as night but dark and overcast. I was reminded of the price my Savior paid on the cross just for me and those who are willing to repent of their sins and receive His Love and Believe. Be blessed as you view the video below.

Grace and Peace

April 1st Scripture Meditation/Memory

Isaiah 45:1-3

1 This is what the LORD says to his anointed, to Cyrus, (Sylvia) whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him(her) and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him(her) so that gates will not be shut:

2 I (The LORD) will go before you(Sylvia) and will level the mountains; I(The LORD) will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.

3 I(The Lord) will give you(Sylvia) the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you(Sylvia) may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.

If you are following my blog you will notice I am taking 6 weeks to meditate and memorize this scripture selection. I learned last year not to push myself too hard so I could fully take in the current scripture God gave me to hide in my heart.

In the past few days I have had several experiences that I believe are derived as the blessing of God created just for me as I have been focusing on these three verses. Look for a near future post as I describe how God worked miracles in my life recently.

A song I must Sing today "Grace and Peace" to all.

Sunday's Song The Passover Seder Symbols Parody

As an adopted Jew by my faith and trust in Jesus Christ my Lord. I understand Palm Sunday begins Passover. This week Jews partake of the Seder Dinner. March 28th Sunday Song is a parody from music I have enjoyed most of my life. Now I will listen to the music and hear this parody teaching me about the seven symbols of the Seder Dinner. Be blessed as you listen and I look for any comments you might want to share below in the comment section. Thank you for visiting my blog.

Recent Experience with The Holy Scripture

Last fall God began preparing me for a season of rest. Significant life blows began happening along with miracles as well. Finally the first week of this year the heaviest blow showed up. It has been my experience when the pain gets deep enough I am then finally willing to do whatever it takes to get better.

Let me just say for sometime God has been calling me to slow down...I was unable to do that on my own so God did it for me. It was necessary for me so I would have the opportunity to heal well and come back better. Now almost three months later I am coming back and yet still frustrated with myself that I am not completely well. Slow healing usually generate a sustained healing over the long term of life. God is still growing my character in the Patience department.

Since January 1, 2010 I began reading The Message by Eugene Peterson. Today I began 1 Samuel and know I have much to learn from this book. Interestingly enough as I read the Books of the Law and now reading History, in these Old Testament books I see so many jewels of scripture that apply to me in my current life situations. Example: One takeaway from Deuteronomy "God takes you out so He can bring you back in a much better person, etc." Well, this past January God certainly took me out and I have learned much that only because I am going through it I have a fresh depth of understanding that can only be learned by the experience. This has created a new freedom with the Lord as I have walked this experience.

I've always loved the Book of Joshua as it repeatedly reminds me to be strong and of good courage. I recognize I really am my own worst enemy. Yes, we all have issues but the truth is each one of us does everyday exactly what we want to do. So yes, I am my own worst enemy.

The Book of Judges was a difficult read. The children of Israel looked good on the outside and did what God had instructed and yet on the inside their heart was not right as they had never repented of their sins. I realize for lasting sustaining change I must be changed from the inside out. That is a significant message from Judges. We all must be changed from the inside out. Our society promotes looking good etc at all costs. Some people look good but are very deceiving of their motives. Lord change me from the inside out.

The Book of Ruth oh, how I enjoy a good love story of Ruth and Boaz and yet the Book of Ruth is so much more. Dr. Larry Crabb writes in 66 Love Letters "Consider Ruth. She faced overwhelming disadvantages. Poverty, Racism (Israel hated Moab. Ruth was a Moabitess.) No job prospects. Widowed. But she valued relationships over advantages. With only a beginning sense that I was there, her thirst for relating well led her toward loyalty to Naomi and faith in Me. She made choices that, unless I existed and had a loving plan for her, would have been foolish. No one can value relationships over advantages without faith that I am at work, moving toward a happy ending that justifies present troubles."

I keep thinking I will create a post during the week and somehow before I know it I am realizing it is Saturday evening and I am seeking to discover "Sunday's Song" for this blog.

The bottom line as I read scripture is the Maker of Heaven and Earth created me with His purpose for my life. It is all about my Creator and His call on me to Trust Him in faith believing and learn to Be Holy because The Maker of Heaven and Earth, my Creator is a Holy God. With this thought and tomorrow is Palm Sunday I will now go searching for the Song I must sing for this 2010 Palm Sunday

March 21st - lt is Well With My Soul

As I begin to prepare myself for Palm Sunday, March 28th I viewed this video a few years ago and was richly blessed. We all have blessings and challenges in our lives going on at the same time. Make the time to listen to Wintley Phipps testimony then the words of wisdom God gave him from that experience before he sings the hymn "It is Well with my Soul".

As I approach the Sabbath I desire to consider what I need to do to make it well with my soul and then the courage to do it. I want to Praise and Worship Jehovah no matter what. Thank you LORD for the WORD of God in Scripture that guides me through the valleys and on the mountain tops. Thank you that when you take me out, it is so you can bring me back in to a new freedom because Jesus is alive today.

Scripture Meditation/Memory - March 15

March 1st I began meditating to memorize Isaiah 45:1-3. I have only focused on the first verse these past 14 days today I add the second verse to this significant WORD from God for me.

Isaiah 45:1

This is what the LORD says to His anointed, to Cyrus (Sylvia), whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him(her)and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him(her) so that gates will not be shut.

Isaiah 45:2

I(The LORD) will go before you(Sylvia)and will level the mountains, I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.

These two verses give me such strength as I seek God's direction daily. Some visions(i.e.ideas) seem impossible and yet these verses tell me to Trust God's Promises.
Pastor Greg in yesterday's message from Genesis 22 reminded me that Abraham trusted God and lived on God's Promises not explanations. If we can see our way to do something it does not take faith and trust. I must believe God that He can do what the Scripts say He can and will do. The faith of a child shall lead them. Be blessed with this hymn I learned growing up in church.

I look for your comments and any verse you are meditating on currently.

Sunday's Song - Praise His Name

Spring has begun in Houston, TX. Spring is a season of new beginnings. Spring in Houston exhibits in full view redbud trees and tulip trees in bloom. Yellow daffodils, hyacinths and the azalea's are springing to life with brilliant color.

I feel so blessed to have come through such a cold winter as we experienced this past season. Experiencing snow in Houston during December and again in late January is a major miracle after living in Houston since 1974 I know how seldom we see snow or it gets cold longer than two weeks out of the year.

I am so thankful for the Prevailing Power of Prayer in the lives of my family and friends. In God's amazing grace and mercy Les and I saw our beloved business partner's wife go through brain surgery this past Wednesday to clamp a growing aneurysm. From the time of the surgery Wednesday morning, March 10th with a six hour surgery during which his wife my precious friend experienced complications we continued to pray desiring the best but always prayed Lord we desire to Praise and Glorify your name no matter what.

From surgery on Wednesday she went into ICU until late this afternoon, Saturday my precious friend is now in a regular room. She is responding and improving every hour. I have sent out prayer request regularly and God is always Faithful. The song written and preformed by Sherri and Jeff Easter expresses it so well. Be blessed this Sunday as you view the video.

We will Remember...Valerie & Ryan's 7th Wedding Anniversary Today March 7th

Today is the seventh wedding anniversary of Les and my youngest daughter, Valerie and her husband, Ryan. I recall it had rained all week long this time in 2003. A garden wedding at Shirley Acres was on the venue. On March 6th at the rehearsal we were chattering our teeth as the sun set and we practiced outside how the wedding would flow the next evening. We were warmed by loving friends and family participating in the wonderful event.

Then as dawn broke on March Seventh the sky was still overcast. While we were at the Bride's luncheon my dear friends Judi and Suzanne provided for Valerie and her bridesmaids the sun broke out. What joy we experienced as we sat around the table bathed in the sun beams through the windows in the home of Judi in her formal dining room. Suzanne joined Judi to provide this very special party. The table was so elegantly and exquisitely decorated with their china, crystal and silver as the ladies served a delicious brunch.

After Valerie had presented the bridesmaids with their gifts she surprised Ryan's mother as well as me with our own Tiara. Every female wants to feel special like a princess. Valerie already had her Tiara with her veil attached for her wedding. Now the Mother of the bride had a Tiara as well. Valerie requested we wear our Tiara's for the wedding. I agreed to wear it at the reception and so enjoyed the experience.

By late afternoon Les and I along with my sister, Nina from Missouri were on our way to Shirley Acres for this amazing wedding and have the mulitude of pictures taken before the wedding. At first when Valerie and Ryan wanted to have the wedding here I wasn't so sure about it. As the event concluded I realized that was the best way to ever do a wedding. I was able to really enjoy it as Shirley Acres took care of so many issues.

Valerie older sister, Vicki not only was her matron of honor but also signed a song during the wedding ceremony. I am so thankful for God's faithfulness and the love I see my two daughters share with each other.

Most of all the wedding was Valerie and Ryan's what they wanted to experience. It was so lovely and such a fun event. So many guest commented on how much fun they had at the wedding and also how good the food was as we did a sit down dinner and dance after the garden wedding.

I will remember God's faithfulness in seven years for Valerie and Ryan and eleven years for Vicki and Brandon. I also must add God's faithfulness after five years God brought Cooper into our family. I cannot imagine life without my now three precious grandchildren. Two from Vicki and Brandon and one from Valerie and Ryan.

I must also remember that March 7th not only is Val and Ryan's wedding anniversary but also Ryan's birthday. It was Ryan's choice to have the wedding also on his birthday. So today I also celebrate my Son-in-love, Ryan's 30 something birthday. Happy Birthday!

I will remember God and his faithfulness in so many areas of our lives.

March 1st Scripture Meditation/Memory Verse

I meditate on the verse below and will add to it on March 15th.

Isaiah 45:1 (NIV)

This is what the LORD says to his anointed, to Cyrus (Sylvia), whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him (her) and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him (her) so that gates will not be shut:

Sunday's Song - Be Thou My Vision

Now I know I just posted this song two days ago, however "Be Thou My Vision" remains my theme song at the moment. I am seeking God's direction and not my selfish desires that seem to pop up all to often. I don't want you to miss the blessing of viewing the scenes and listening to words of this ancient hymn that speaks to me in a huge way today. Grace and Peace to You.

Song of Praise

Today has been a week of Praise as I move forward in the healing of my current health situation. I am physically much stronger from doing the work God has set out before me. Yes this has been a more active week learning how to prioritize my time. Also a week of discerning what my activity needs to be that several days it was an "Ouch!".

The hymn "Be Thou My Vision" is becoming a theme song for me right now. Until another day...this song I must sing.

Be Blessed by The Great I AM, The One and Only Holy God today.

As you worship today where ever you are may you recognzie the Holiness of God.

Hebrews 10:36 (NIV)

The discipline of this exercise in 2009 blessed me beyond measure. I invite those of you who hear God calling you to join me on this journey too.

Valentine Memories and a Sunday Song

When I think of Valentine I think of LOVE. I am thankful for the love of my husband and life partner, Les, my man, and my baby. Only the LOVE of God could bring us together and has kept us together now for 40 years. What joy our girls, Vicki and Valerie growing up would enjoy on Valentine's that usually included something Sweet, often some kind of chocolate, be it candy, cake or ice cream.

Yesterday I made "from scratch homemade" decadent chocolate brownies to give to my Valentine who will share the sweets. I tell people "Chocolate encourages me".

Today I am grateful for the Love God created in my heart for Jesus Christ and for my family. I am reminded of the Love our family experienced when Vicki and Brandon married Feb 27, 1999. Just a few years later Micah was born in Jan 2003. Then in Oct 2004 Lauren was born.

More Love arrived March 7, 2003 when Valerie and Ryan married. The family received more blessings in Jan 2008 when Cooper was born. I praise God for the JOY of family.

Valentine brings sweet thoughts to my mind. Above all is the name of Jesus. Make the time to be blessed with the names of Jesus as shown in the video with today's Sunday Song.

Happy Sweet Valentine's Day to each of you today.

Rest in the WORD

Currently God has Sylvia in a Season of Rest. The enemy has such a fix that even in my period of rest I end up overdoing and then have to re-evaluate the new normal God has planned for me. Too often I would rather act on my "need driven activities" than just save myself for God's "Spirit Driven Activities". Huge mistake, forgive me LORD.

This happened again yesterday. A precious long time friend lost her husband to cancer in late January. Today she is having a Celebration of Life Service in the chapel at our church. My health is improving and thought yesterday I would be strong enough to go if I took it easy the day before.

Late yesterday afternoon I was blessed to see my daughter and 2 year old grandson for a brief visit. Family blesses me and the joy of a precious two year old little boy having his latte (milk w/whip cream) with G.G.and her coffee so precious not to mention just spending time with my daughter.

In my joy to be with them plus all the earlier days activities by mid evening while watching the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics I began to realize that one more time I had overdone it. I was in such denial I thought maybe after a good night rest I will be better.

I am better but not enough as I felt my knee and leg when I got up this morning God confirmed it. I would be pushing it today to attend this Celebration of Life Service. I know where my focus needs to be and remind myself of that daily and yet the problem is I get distracted from my focus so easily.

God uses all kinds of situations to say "Sylvia just Rest in Me" Be still and know that I am.

Earlier this week I completed reading for the first time "The Rest of God" Restoring your Soul by Restoring you Sabbath by Mark Buchanan. This book has opened my eyes in many directions of learning how to fully REST in Jesus. This is my first read of the book which took four months because it was such a poignant read for me...definitley not the last time I read it either.

So today God is calling me early to a Valentine Song of Love... Be Still and REST Know that I AM.

This weekend of Valentine Weekend I pray you and I allow God to wrap HIS warm and loving Presence all over us that brings a REST that rejuvonates. I am reminded as His child I am passionately and dearly loved by my Heavenly Father.

That's right can you hear, listen to the Music God is playing just for us right now. Be Blessed from the Music today.

Lord You are Holy....Help me to Worship You today and Seek more of you in my life today.

The Song I Must Sing goes Bluegrass/Country

Music has always been a significant part of my life. Yes, and I like a variety of music classical, rock n roll, country, opera, all types of music I enjoy.

I have discovered on Trinity Broadcasting Network cable from 6 - 7 p.m. on Saturday evening is the Bill Gather Homecoming Hour. I didn't catch all of the show tonight but I was blessed by what I watched.

Bill Gather introduced me to Jeff and Sheri Easter who sing bluegrass/country/ Christian, etc.

We'll see if I can figure out how to insert the link so you can click on "It's Party Time" I pretty much stay in my more traditional music when there is a Celebration of Life Service but found this song rather refreshing.

Well, I tried to see if the link was there for you to click on and it looks like I have more research to do to make this option. So if you go to You Tube insert Jeff and Sheri Easter then look for "It's Party Time". Also "She Loved" that Sheri sings blesses me too.

I'm still looking to figure out if anyone is reading this blog. Help me if you know how to quickly set that up.

He will quiet you with His Love - God's Love Song

Hebrews 10:35 (Sylvia) Do not throw away your confidence. You will be richly rewarded. I am hanging on God's word cause He said it and I believe it.

I have just spent over 90 minutes trying to recreate what I deleted. This blogger program doesn't let me, or should I say I do not know how, to override this system. I realized I had posted a quote from an e-mail to me and wanted to make sure my friend did not mind me posting what God spoke to me through her. I did not give her name out but when she would read the blog she would recognize it. She did give me permission.

"I am praying. I believe God is going to heal you, but you may have to endure a little more down time. But He can use it all. And you will love your new makeover when it is finished!!! You will soon see how differently you think about things when this is all over. He WILL NOT waste this suffering. It is all being used for good purpose. The Bible says that Christ learned obedience through suffering. . . and so do we. Just don't get discouraged. Ask the Lord to consecrate your mind every day. That is something He has to do for us. And Praise Him. It will keep you from becoming discouraged. I love you, Sylvia."

I am going to persevere and get the job done. I desire to PRAISE God no matter what and this is definitely a No matter what posted Praise. I am indeed blessed to have such precious friends write message straight from God in the same day for me. Then I reflect on my current meditation and memory verse, Hebrews 10:35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. God is my confidence. I must continue to recognize His Presence at all times and my confidence will remain strong.

Before I received the e-mail I received this glorious text,"Prayed for you this morning. This verse is for you. Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.

No matter what kind of challenge you are experiencing today, I pray you will be encouraged to Know God's Presence is more precious than His presents.

Let me such say God encouraged me big time on Tuesday through two precious Prayer Warrior Friends before I knew how much I would need that encouragement. He is Jehovah Jirah, My Provider.

February 1 - Hebrews 10: 35

Greetings Blog World...I sing a song today of Hebrews 10:35 to meditate on and hide these words permanently in my heart from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Hebrews 10:35 (NIV)

Yes, this is a very short verse and yet there is much to meditate on with only those few words. I know what is coming in verse 36 but choose to use that verse as my other verse for February. I learned from 2009 not to give myself too much to memorize as I began to understand what I need to do as I meditate.

I know my only confidence as I have known confidence from childhood is in Jesus. With that confidence requires obedience.

I invite you to write your verse in the comment section with your name and location that we may encourage one another to know God at a deeper level.

As was taught by Beth Moore, Living Proof Ministries let me share what I learned. Meditating on God's Word will RENEW my Spirit.

Read your selected scripture out loud over and over this is meditation to Speak His Word.
Examine it carefully. Make sense of it. Who is it written to, is there an order, etc.
Need it - Be sure this is a scripture I need in my life right now.
Echo - Say the scripture out loud as much as possible that you can hear yourself say it.
Wield - the Word. The Word is the Sword of the Spirit. Wield the word FOR someone.

I like to purchase my scripture index card spiral at the office supply store that has colorful plastic cover and insert for the cover. You can be as creative as you like. You can make your own, purchase a index card binder or use that whatever works for you. The point is to keep God's word handy and close by that in 2010 God's Word can be hidden deep within my being that I can grow stronger in Jesus.

I look forward to hearing from you in the comment section. Thanks
